Music to Work Out To

Or, make love to, but who's getting any ass if they ain't working out first? Unless you got the cash, you best get the abs, and thankfully for all of us poor folk, 80's French Heavy Metal band, Nightmare, has just the right track for us to pump-up to (not that kind of pump). Even better, the band takes the time to show us the proper techniques, as well as the proper attire (shitless with tight red pants, naturally), for a pump that would make Lee Haney proud.

What really stands out immediately is how unimpressive Nightmare are as a buff band. They certainly aren't The Misfits. However, much like an instructional video, Nightmare shows you where to start, then, thanks to the power of editing, the video goes to shots of a ripped dude wearing only black undies and doing butterfly presses, which shows you where you can be with a little hard work and a whole lot of METAL! The key components are all there: A live Metal performance in a gym, a nearly naked guy working it hard, a bunch of shirtless jean wearing metal heads doing synchronized pull-ups, air guitar celebrations and of course, Sylvester.

The band may be called Nightmare, but they sure are a dream come true.

  1. So, I spent most of my evening (at work) watching the "BIG 4" DVD that covers a Metallica/Slayer/Megadeth/Anthrax Thrash-strvaganza of awesomeness. Needless to say my mind was blown. And now, here I am about to go to bed, doing my rounds on the blogs (this being my first stop as usual), and I see this post. Just when I thought my day couldn't get any more Metal, NIGHTMARE comes along.

Now I can't sleep because all I can think about is going to the gym with my studded wightlifting belt so I can get buff. If I stick to the Nightmare workout regimen (rock, 1 set/1 rep bench press, high-five, air guitar, rock some more) I should be alright.

  2. Barbcult: Glad you enjoyed it, Barb!

Aaron: Man, the Big Four is so no joke and for whatever reason (old age), I never even knew that existed! Now I know and now I must know more!

I guess you could say we both had a night of Metal as the Nightmare video came from the post I did last night on my blog, which led to numerous clicks onto a number of awesome/old 80's Metal videos that were mostly of the low-budget variety! Gold('s Gym) all around.

  3. I found the BIG 4 DVD while looking at new CD's at Target. I didn't even know about it either! I know you're a Thrash fan, so I don't think it would take much convincing for you to pick it up. It's definitely worth the 20-something bucks.
